ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Brief Background

Fame Academy of Science and Technology (FAST) was born out of love for the poor. It was founded sometime in November 2002. A non-stick, non-profit educational institution, it was registered with the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) with registration No. CN200260292. FAST opened on June 2003 with the Government Permit No. 199, s. 2004. The Government Recognition was issued last March 27, 2006 with Recognition No. 020 s. 2006. There were only 21 enrolees on its maiden year and it continued to grow in number as the years went. FAST is a family-owned school and is managed by Oscar S. Manalo Sr. (Ed. D), his son, Oscar S. Manalo Jr., and Maribel G. Manalo. It is the only Science and Technology private secondary school in Western Batangas which caters to 10 municipalities, in which 90% of the students are all scholars.

Philosophy

FAME ACADEMY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (FAST) strongly believes in the education of the youth as the prime catalyst of change and development. Therefore, it aims to develop among the Batangueño youth a desire for lifelong learning so that they may become valuable members and shapers of society. The school not only encourages the pursuit of academic excellence and creativity, but likewise instills among its student’s humane values and life-skills such as compassion, civic-mindedness, resilience, endurance; along with curiosity and creativity. It takes a team of committed teachers and administrators to instill values in FAST students. As such, they will be instruments in fostering a culture of good character, excellence and concern for the common good.

Goals

  • To develop among our students 21st century skills such as communication, critical thinking, creative thinking and collaboration.
  • To instill among our students and instruction specialists a “growth mindset,” by providing challenges that will inspire them to love learning; and that will allow them to grow in virtue, not just skills.
  • To implement an enhanced Science Curriculum, aligned with the K to 12 program of the Department of Education
  • To be aware of the changing needs of society and adopt technological responses to address these changes.

Objectives

  • To establish and maintain harmonious communication with all stakeholders: students, parents, instruction specialists, staff and other partner-institutions for us to work together to achieve our vision, mission and goals.
  • To provide students with a secure, respectful and stimulating learning environment
  • To provide students with a strong foundation in the sciences to prepare them for higher education through a broad, balanced and challenging curriculum
  •  Students will learn about the political, economic, cultural, geographic, and technological
forces that have shaped the history of Batangas and of the Philippines.
  • Encourage instruction specialists to adopt innovative techniques in pedagogy to engage
    and inspire learners
